Understanding that technology infrastructure can make or break a legal practice, a global law firm turned to TeraSky’s Kubernetes expertise to fortify its digital foundation. The seamless platform migration not only enhanced system security and performance but also freed attorneys to focus on what matters most—exceptional client service.
The Background
One of the world’s largest and most prestigious law firms with offices in major cities around the globe has built its reputation on delivering exceptional expertise and innovative solutions to complex legal challenges.
Modern technology infrastructure is essential for law firms. It supports daily operations and innovation while ensuring attorneys maintain access to document management systems, client portals, and case tools—even during system transitions. These technologies also help firms meet stringent compliance requirements for legal data management while advancing service delivery.
To enhance capabilities and maintain its competitive edge, the firm made the strategic decision to modernize existing applications and migrate to the latest Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Service.
The Challenge
The law firm needed expert guidance to migrate from its current Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) implementation to the latest TKG Service while redeploying existing applications to leverage new features and enhanced functionality. The deployment of TKG Service 3.2 required specialized knowledge to ensure operational continuity across their extensive global operations. Given the size and geographic spread of their systems, the project demanded flawless execution, which led the firm to partner with TeraSky for their proven expertise in complex migrations.
The Solution
TeraSky built a modern technology foundation using cutting-edge Broadcom technologies. The solution centered around vSphere Supervisor 8.0 and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Service 3.2, container orchestration platforms that simplify the deployment and management of containerized applications in enterprise environments.
Implementation began with thorough planning in the test environment before moving to production systems. TeraSky deployed three Tanzu Kubernetes clusters running Kubernetes 1.31 in each environment—one shared cluster and two dedicated workload clusters—creating a solid foundation for the firm’s applications.
The solution utilized TKG packages to deploy an ingress controller, container storage, and system monitoring. Additionally, TeraSky integrated VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer to optimize application traffic distribution and ensure high availability.
“The technical complexity of this implementation involved coordinating multiple interdependent components across distributed environments,” explains Lev Andelman, TeraSky’s CTO, “We leveraged our experience with Kubernetes orchestration to design a multi-tier architecture that provides both isolation and resource sharing where appropriate while implementing automation that dramatically simplifies ongoing operations and future updates.”
The Bottom Line
The law firm successfully migrated its applications to a more secure, current platform that streamlines internal workflows and automates routine tasks. Attorneys now focus more on client work instead of administrative duties, while the new system utilizes computing resources more efficiently, reducing operational costs and improving scalability.
“TeraSky’s experts were nothing short of methodical throughout this implementation,” notes the law firm representative. “Their detail-oriented approach, deep knowledge of container tech, and superior support services made it that much easier for us to provide our clients with the care and attention they deserve.”
TeraSky’s strategic implementation demonstrates how specialized technology partners can transform complex infrastructure challenges into competitive advantages, creating foundations for continuous innovation while ensuring reliability and security for mission-critical business operations.
