In 1985, Michael Burstein founded MBI to provide data storage and backup services to a burgeoning technology industry. Quickly, MBI began representing state-of-the-art technology leaders in the field like Maxtor, Exabyte, Archive, BusLogic, OMTI to clients that would become among the biggest names in tech.
MBI expanded its business to include sophisticated storage, backup, and restore solutions. In 2004, we were nominated by EMC as the “World’s Best Backup Solution and Service Provider. META Group rated MBI the “#1 Service Provider for Backup Solutions” in the rapidly expanding Israeli market three years in a row.
Glasshouse Technologies, the global leader in independent storage solution services, acquired MBI and its sister companies, MBI Turkey and Integrity Systems.
MBI’s founders established TeraSky. The new company’s first offering was GRecover, an Asigra-based cloud backup software as a service (SaaS) operation.
That same year, we signed partner agreements with EMC, VMware, Asigra, Quantum, Overland Storage, Veeam, and other technology leaders.
TeraSky became the only EMC partner in Israel with the complete range of certifications for selling and supporting EMC storage and BRS solutions. We signed the Master Partner Subcontractor agreement with EMC and achieved VMware Enterprise Partner and Veeam Gold Partner status. In 2012, TeraSky also signed partnership agreements with IBM and HP.
We accelerated our journey into the New IT era and cloud computing through innovative solutions and products from leading technology vendors: VMware, DellEMC, AWS, Google Cloud, Red Hat, HashiCorp, Nvidia, Veeam, Rubrik, Prisma, Kasten, Pure Storage, Portworx and Lambda, NetApp, Nutanix, Cybereason, CyberGym, SNYK; aqua, Elastic; Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF); Kubernetes Certified Service Provide (KCSP); Excelero, Etc.
TeraSky also became one of just a few worldwide companies to be recognized by VMware as a Top Master Services Competencies Partner.
TeraSky continued to garner praise. We were recognized by VMWare with the 2020 Global Partner Trailblazer Award and Technology Partner of the Year (TeraSky Baltic).
In 2021, TeraSky won exciting honors: the VMware Partner of the Year Award, AWS Rising Star of the Year, Dell IL 2021 Breakthrough Award, and Dell EU 2021 Channel Services Delivery Excellence Award.
We also further established our expertise by achieving Pure Storage Partner, AWS DevOps, and Migration Competency Partner, Amazon EKS Anywhere launch partner. Got our 7th VMware Master competency and Hashicorp Specialized Global Partner status. CTO Lev Andelman was appointed as a Hashicorp Ambassador -- an honor given to only a few worldwide.
TeraSky had an impressive year in 2022, with several major accomplishments to celebrate. We were awarded the 2022 Social Impact Partner Award by VMware – a recognition of our commitment to driving innovation and results for our joint customers – and no less than twenty TeraSky engineers were designated as VMware vExperts. We were granted the HashiCorp RSI Partner of the Year Award and achieved HashiCorp’s highest recognition as a Hyper-Specialized Partner. Additionally, TeraSky became a certified Prisma Cloud by Palo Alto Networks Specialist and received the Pure Storage and Portworx by Pure Storage Partner Award at the Pure/Accelerate TechFest in Prague. 2022 also saw the opening of our New York office, formalizing TeraSky’s entry into the US market.
2023 started with an investment from Abry Partners, fortifying our Israel presence and propelling global market expansion. We launched Cloud FinOps as a Service and partnered with AWS for the launch of the new Availability Region in Israel. TeraSky named Google Cloud Partner of the Year and achieving Premier Tier Services Partner status with AWS. We gained elite status as HashiCorp's sole SI globally with a double competency designation. CTO Lev Andelman earned his third consecutive HashiCorp Ambassador title. VMware bestowed the vExpert title for nine additional TeraSky engineers and awarded the company VMware Technology Partner for the second year running, as well as the 2023 Partner Value Award.
In 2024, TeraSky announced a strategic alliance with Microsoft, solidifying our position as a leading provider of cloud migration and generative AI solutions on Azure. Former VMware VP of Strategic Sales Eli Shacked, joined our ranks as Chief Revenue Officer to drive growth. The company also achieved Elite Partner status with Pure Storage as a result of our exceptional performance in delivering advanced data storage solutions.
