The Decision
Before LoanWise could launch its digital mortgage platform, it needed a cloud foundation built for security, governance, and regulatory readiness. Under tight timelines, getting that foundation right was critical.
LoanWise, a non-bank financial company providing customized mortgage and real estate financing solutions, needed to build its digital platform on AWS from the ground up. With a one-year window to prepare for capital market regulation, the company needed a production-ready environment that could support long-term growth from day one.
To meet that deadline, they’d have to build a complete cloud platform capable of supporting its launch without compromising speed or operational readiness.
The Architecture
For financial platforms, cloud infrastructure can’t simply run applications. It has to also provide the control, separation, and security required for regulated operations.
The new architecture focused on establishing a secure multi-account AWS foundation with clear boundaries between production, development, security, and shared services. At the same time, the platform needed to support scalable application delivery, automated deployments, and a modern operational model that could grow with the business.
The objective was to create a production-grade environment that would allow LoanWise to launch quickly while meeting the standards expected of a financial services platform.
The Platform
TeraSky built the full AWS landing zone and Kubernetes platform that became the foundation of LoanWise’s digital mortgage offering.
The environment included a multi-account structure across production, development, QA, security, and shared services, with centralized networking, firewall controls, and identity management designed for enterprise governance and operational control.
On top of that foundation, TeraSky deployed three production-ready Kubernetes clusters and implemented a fully automated Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps delivery model. This allowed applications to be deployed consistently across environments while reducing operational friction and improving release reliability.
The team also containerized and deployed the core application stack, including Umbraco CMS, backend services, and the customer-facing brand site across all environments.
Technology Stack
AWS Landing Zone • AWS Control Tower • Amazon EKS • Terraform • ArgoCD / GitOps • Karpenter • Transit Gateway • Network Firewall
The Impact
Loanwise set out to build something unprecedented in the Israeli credit market: the country’s first non-bank credit company designed from day one to operate 100% in the cloud. Together with TeraSky, we brought this vision to life, launching a fully operational production environment on AWS in approximately four months.
The new environment provided the security, governance, and operational maturity needed to support a regulated financial business, while giving the company the speed and flexibility required to launch and scale.
As LoanWise CIO Tal Matzri put it:
“This project was about creating the foundation for the business itself. TeraSky helped us move quickly without cutting corners. They built a platform that gave us both the speed to go live and the confidence to meet the demands of a regulated financial environment.”
Production went live in May 2025, and the platform continues to support ongoing monitoring, security hardening, and penetration test remediation into 2026, demonstrating not just a successful launch but a stable operational foundation for continued growth.
