Kubernetes has become the backbone of modern application delivery, but mastering it requires more than just reading documentation. TeraSky’s 4-day Kubernetes Hands-On Training is designed to give teams practical, end-to-end experience with the tools, patterns, and workflows used in real production environments.

From container fundamentals to advanced topics like service mesh, monitoring, and CI/CD, this course equips engineers with the skills to deploy, operate, and optimize Kubernetes with confidence.

What You’ll Learn

Our training combines clear explanations with hands-on labs so participants leave with both knowledge and practical skills.

Day 1: Containers — The Foundation of Kubernetes

  • Immutable infrastructure & 12-factor app methodology.
  • Building and managing Docker images (including multi-stage builds).
  • Using registries and managing container volumes.
  • Day-2 operations: inspect, log, push, run, and more.

Day 2–3: Kubernetes Fundamentals & Operations

  • Understanding the Kubernetes architecture.
  • Kubernetes primitives: Pods, Deployments, and Services (ClusterIP, NodePort, LoadBalancer).
  • Rollout strategies and version control.
  • Service discovery, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
  • Running deployments and troubleshooting container starts.
  • Sidecar and init container patterns.
  • Managing workloads with Ingress, DaemonSets, and BatchJobs.
  • Persistent storage configuration and RBAC for secure operations.
  • Observability with Prometheus & Grafana monitoring, plus log aggregation using the Elastic Stack.

Day 4: CI/CD and Service Mesh

  • Packaging applications with Helm charts.
  • Building delivery pipelines with Tekton (a modern Jenkins alternative).
  • Deploying and operating Istio for secure, observable service-to-service communication.

By the end of the course, participants will not only understand the “how” of Kubernetes but also the “why” behind operational decisions — a critical difference when running workloads in production. This course offers exposure to the many skills necessary to administer Kubernetes in a production environment and is also excellent preparation for the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam.
